Description

"I have an epic surprise idea for the wedding, Shelby would love it," Jake said. Kyle could tell he was really excited by the way he was swaying slightly as he leaned against Lord Northwest's stall. "But... it'll cost a ton. I don't want to have to use some of the stable's normal money...."

"How about we do a fundraiser of some sort?" Max asked as he gave City of Gold a kiss on the muzzle. The filly snorted back at him.

"Like what? Ugh, I just want the wedding to be perfect..." Jake sighed and itched Lord's chin.

"Umm... this may sound crazy, but how about an auction?" Kyle asked, the bucket of grain he was holding was getting heavy so he put it on the ground.

"That's a great idea! How about thoroughbred yearlings? That's perfect!" Jake started grinning like crazy. His eyes widened as Shelby walked into the barn.

"What are you doing..?" she asked, walking over and giving Lord a kiss on the cheek.

"Just..." Jake stuttered.

"...talking! About how weird it is that Max is in love with City, and Sights and Summerlady..." Kyle tried valiantly to save Jake.

"Funny," Max snorted.

"Sure..." Shelby said, not convinced, "well, don't me ruin your fun..."

"You kissed Lord but not me??" Jake whined.

"Lord doesn't keep secrets from me," she teased, and walked off.

In order for Jake to pull off his surprise for Shelby, he needs your help.

To bid on a horse you must draw a picture of it (full body please, but multiple horses you are trying for can be in one picture). You get bonus points if you draw the horse at the auction (being led around in the ring or before the auction when they are in their stalls or being led form their stalls to the ring). At the end date I will choose who gets each horse, please include stories and stats (which include name, gender, breed, height, color, genotypes, markings and all that, especially what you plan to use them for).

:bulleblue: You CAN change their names
:bulletwhite: Racing them is preferred, but you can use them for any discipline
:bulletblue: One person can win multiple horses

End Date:
:new: The owners have been chosen!
:new: Moved back to March 1st
2/10/11 (February 10th) can be moved back if you request with valid reason

-----------------
Hip One
Name: Liberty or Death
Gender: Colt
Breed: Thoroughbred
Color fleabitten gray
Genotypes: Aa/Ee/Gg
Markings: broken stripe, cornet, bloody shoulder marks on shoulder and left cheek
Sire:Deadly Temptation [link] (by Eighth Deadly Sin)
Dam:Rose Wanderer [link] (by Illusionce)

Notes:
A peculiar colt, just as his name implies, he demands liberty. He must be the center of attention and be treated very fairly, you have to pick your battles with him. If handled roughly, he'll be a nightmare and refuse to load or run well; but if treated with 'liberty' he'll run his heart out.
By bloodlines, both of his parents have produced impressive graded stakes winners. His dam, Rose Wanderer, pulled off impressive wins in the Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic two years in a row, and won the complete Triple Tiara. His sire, Deadly Temptation, won the Kentucky Derby and was runner-up in both the Preakness and Belmont. Liberty or Death is half-brother to the filly Callidora, who won the Breeders' Cup Classic three years times. His bloodlines are very successful and tend to pass on their remarkable talent to their progeny.
Liberty or Death definitley favors dirt, but runs well on turf too, however, he absolutley hates synthetic. He tends to preform better at distances from 1 mile up. He refuses to stalk the pack and is a definite frontrunner. He is capable of holding his top speed for a significant amount of time.
Overall, a tempermental but exquisite colt.

Hip Two
Name: Sleepy Hollow
Gender: Colt
Breed: Thoroughbred
Color Mealy Bay
Genotypes: AA/Ee
Markings: irregular stripe, two cornets, two socks
Sire Sure Win [link] (by Sherwin)
Dam: Reckless Intensity [link] (by Defying Gravity)
Notes:
A very sweet boy, you'd hardly believe he was a stallion. He finds comfort in familiar faces, so changing his jockey too often will upset him as will changing trainers. He tends to be a lonely guy, so a stable buddy would be good for keeping his spirits up.
His sire, Sure Win, had an impressive Kentucky Derby win and Preakness, but fell short in the Belmont. Sure Win's offspring are unproven on the track, as his only other offspring is still in training. As far as Reckless Intensity, his dam, she did not have an overly impressive career until her surprising win in the Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic. Her only other offpsring so far is Deceptive Intensity, who has raced remarkably well so far in her career.
Sleepy Hollow runs best on turf, as he likes to be able to get a real grip, he usually does well on dirt when it is dry but runs horribly on a wet dirt track. Synthetic is in the middle for him. He likes to run midpack and his endurance is more impressive then his speed, his ideal distance being over a mile.
Overall, he's a sweet and capable colt, but his nerves and need for routine are his downfalls.

---------------------
Hip Three
Name: Swan Lake
Gender: Filly
Breed: Thoroughbred
Color Black Maximum Sabino
Genotypes: Ee/aa/SbSb
Markings: eyeliner markings, wall eyes
Sire: starter
Dam: starter

Notes:
Not only beautiful to look at, she also runs very nicely. She has a very nice stride and is a crowd pleaser for sure.
She has no real favorite surface to run, and does equally well on all of them but is not a big fan of sloppy tracks. She likes to run with the pack, but is very adaptable to frontrunner or stalking styles. Her best attribute is how adaptable she is.</b>

OWNER: N/A; NOT FOR SALE! (ME)
-------------------
Hip Four
Name: Dutchman
Gender: Colt
Breed: Thoroughbred
Color Black 'Wild' Sabino
Genotypes: EE/aa/SbSb
Markings: Sabino markings, stripes, clusters of flecks on face form solid markings
Sire: starter
Dam: starter

Notes:
A leggy colt with plenty of attitude. He can be very difficult and unpredictable, sometimes good as gold and sometimes off the wall.
He enjoys running on turf most and may even be a steeplechase prospect if you can get him to settle down. He defintiley has ability, the trick getting it out of him. He has no clear favorite distance or position, just whatever strikes his fancy at the moment. Good luck...

----------------------
Hip Five
Name: Hallucagin
Gender: Filly
Breed: Thoroughbred
Color Chestnut Maximum Sabino
Genotypes: aa/ee/SbSb
Markings: sabino marks, snip
Sire: starter (same sire as Dutchman's)
Dam: starter

Notes:
Half-sister to Dutchman, she got the looks but not the crazy temperment. She is very predictable, competitive and full of heart. She does not have his natural ability though she will give her all every time.
She likes turf as well, but is not a steeplechase prospect, strictly flat. Middle distances suit her well and she likes to run midpack. She'd also likely make a wonderful broodmare once she's retired.
